Enterprise Server
The PPU Enterprise Server provides instant network wide situational awareness, access, and control of all your sites from a single web interface. Security alerts, equipment status, and network health messages are easily monitored from any web browser or through email messages. The PPU server communications architecture allows great system scalability with respect to bandwidth requirements since each site added produces minimal amounts of periodic overhead traffic.

Tamper Detection
The Tamper Detection mechanism of the PPU consists of a magnetic door sensor with the appropriate power and data connections. It is pre-installed and ready for operation as soon as the PPU is powered up. The device detects when the PPU enclosure door is opened and sends an alert to an email list or takes other action as specified in the PPU configuration. A door close notification can also be sent when the door is closed. In addition, all events are logged to the local PPU.
Reactive Lighting
When a camera snapshot is requested from a PPU (either manually or in response to an alert), the lighting can be automatically turned on and off by the PPU. The number of seconds to turn on lighting before a snapshot is user defined. This allows various white light cameras to adjust from darkness to light. The PPU uses its latitude/longitude coordinates to determine if it is day or night, and thus can be configured to turn on the light for snapshot requests only at night.
The PPU can be configured to turn on its lights during an alert. An alert can be initiated in response to a camera or physical sensor entering into a tripped state. The alert will last as long as the device indicates alert, or a minimum time since alert start as defined by the end user. In addition, the PPU may be configured so that, at alert start, other PPUs in the network will also turn on their lighting allowing a larger area to be illuminated.
Audio Detect/Analysis
The audio module is able to passively listen for specific sounds or lack of sounds to determine if an alert condition should be raised. Sites are constantly monitored via the ClearSite analytics module to catch problems and immediately notify specified personnel. The module is resilient to false alerts such as thunder and other specified events. Audio snapshots and/or video snapshots are automatically generated and can be easily reviewed. Additionally, the module provides access to the live audio in the site area at anytime.

Equipment Shelf (Optionally Heated)
The equipment shelf provides a convenient space for the user to add additional equipment to the PPU such as cell routers, single board video servers, etc. Since this type of user added equipment is often not rated for the low outdoor temperatures sometimes encountered, a heating option is also offered. The heated shelf includes a temperature sensor that the user can connect to the added equipment. The user specifies the on and off temperatures for the heated shelf in the PPU setup forms.
